Hello from The Dance Company. We are officially in our first full term at our new studio in Teddington. Even though it’s only been 7ish teaching weeks here it feels like we have been here forever. We have welcomed many new friends to the school and as always lovely to see our familiar faces. Thank you as always for continuing to support me and The Dance Company.

TDC Uniform
It’s still so exciting seeing everyone in their TDC black uniform. Everyone looks amazing. It has now been a year since making the decision to change our apparel and we are now in our 3rd term of wearing it. I would now like all students wearing it, this includes if your child does just Acro and/or Street Dance. If your child is still wearing the blue leotard and you are unsure how to order the black TDC uniform please speak to myself or Miss Harriet. The information is in the Uniform section which includes the links to the online stores.
TDC Elite Teams
MINI MAGIC!!! TDC is looking for a couple of passionate dancers ages 4-7 to join our Mini Elite Team. The Team train between 3.5 to 6.5 hours per week and attend roughly one competition a term. If you would like more information please get in contact.
SYNERGY DANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS- MARCH 2024. Well done to all 3 teams for competing back in March. Results are on the Elite page on the website. The girls achieved amazing results. Well done Team TDC!!
THE STARS OF TOMORROW- TUESDAY 28TH MAY The Dance Company has been invited to take part in a non-competitive show at the New Wimbledon Theatre during the Half Term. With short notice I decided to ask one of my Elite Teams to showcase TDC. Very excitingly ‘Mr Pin-Stripe Suit‘ will be taking part in this ‘high-end show filled with dramatic music, lights, effects and dazzling video screens with a packed out audience’. If you wanted to come and support The Dance Company and watch a fun filled show of dance you can purchase tickets through the highlighted text. Prices are from £22.00. Communication at TDC
It is very important we have a correct contact number for you as WhatsApp is currently our preferred choice of communication. We have had more success in reaching parents using this direct messaging service. If you haven’t been receiving any messages from TDC or you haven’t received your latest invoice please speak to myself or Harriet.
Invoices will be always be sent via WHATSAPP before the end of term.
Tap and Ballet Exams
Now we are settled in the new studio I am hoping to organise exams for this term. I am currently on the hunt for a session. Students invited to do their exam will be informed.
Everybody at TDC has been working so hard, I am so proud.
Fundraising
We have 2 special events we are fundraising for at the moment 🙂
You will have all received WhatsApp messages about our Summer being part of Team England in the Dance World Cup. We are currently fundraising to hopefully help Summer with the mandatory kit, entry fees, flights, costumes, accommodation and rehearsals. We had a very successful Bake Sale on Saturday 27th April and plan to host more, hopefully when the weather is nicer and we can set up outside the studio and attract some local customers. We also have £100 up for grabs in our ‘Bonus Ball’ event. Pick a number between 1-100 £5 per entry made to the Go Fund Me page. To find out what numbers are available still please message me. We will draw a winner when all numbers have been taken. Thank you so much for your generosity.

We have plans for more fundraisers past June for SHOW 2025, to enable us to have our FAB lighting for the Show and maybe more! Our bake sales always do well but we hope to do other things…..any ideas are welcome.

Grooming and Uniform
Grooming forms a strong part of the etiquette and uniform for dancers. It allows us teachers to observe the line of the head and neck, which are all important aspects of good training in posture and alignment starting at the age of three. It is tricky to concentrate on movements if your hair is flicking across your face and eyes.
For Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Conditioning and Stretch classes all hair for girls should be in a bun (using a hair-tie, donut and hair pins is all you need, see us if you are not sure) Hair should be pulled back from the face with a pink headband and clips to secure. If hair is in a bun a headband is not necessary. We understand that putting very young dancers hair back into ponytails and buns can be challenging!!
Acro and Street Dance hair must be worn in a high pony tail and off the face- no headband needed.
Acro and Street Dance Uniform skirts and dresses for girls are not suitable, leggings, cycle shorts, tracksuit bottoms are. Crocs and sandals are also unsuitable, please wear Trainers or plimsolls. Street Dance uniform: TDC Black Zoodie and TDC Black T-shirt with black leggings or joggers. Acro uniform: TDC Black Leotard.
Can we please ask that correct uniform is worn in each class, it is compulsory for all genres. Combined Ballet & Tap classes need both pairs of appropriate shoes. Please refer to the website or ask one of the TDC Team.
I just wanted to say a big thank you to all parents/ carers as I have noticed a huge improvement in the overall presentation and grooming of my TDC students. Nearly all students turn up to the studio with their hair in buns and away from the face. This has shown it has a big impact on how everybody dances, as I have seen lots of confidence ….and sass this term 🙂

Newsletters
We aim to upload Newsletters to the website a couple of weeks before the end of term. Please check the website for end of term information, e.g. End of term watching.
A link to newsletters will sent via WhatsApp but it always worth checking the website for any up to date information.
Communication
If we have to suddenly cancel classes for any reason, ie. weather, natural events, illness etc you will receive direct communication from us or always check the website.
We mainly communicate via WhatsApp as we can send out a Broadcast to you all.

Parking close to the Studio
There is free parking down Field Lane and surrounding roads, with a short walk up to the studio. The closest car parks are Cedar Road Car Park and Teddington Station Car Park (Adelaide Road) both a 3 minute walk to the studio. Teddington also has many metred spaces on the main High Road within walking distance of TDC.
Admin/ Office Hours
Harriet will be around from 8:45-13:00 for the first couple of weeks of term to help assist with uniform (please see Online Shop info) and fee queries, as well as new registrations. Depending on sickness and any other absences Harriet will teach in the studio.
We are trying to be as cashless as possible. We will of course still accept cash but please be aware change will not be given until the following week. Thank you for your co-operation.
Keeping TDC Informed
This is a polite message to ensure we are given up to date contact details for when your child is at dancing. If you know you may not be contactable when your child is in my care we must have contact details for another carer. This is very important especially in the event of an emergency. Thank you for your co-operation.
