Dear Parents,
What a fantastic start to the year it has been! I have truly loved being back at the dance school after maternity leave – it’s been so special returning to the studio and seeing all of your fabulous children dancing, smiling, and working so hard.
A huge thank you to our amazing cover teachers, who had such a brilliant time teaching the classes while I was away. The dancers have been incredible and it’s been an absolute joy introducing Noa to the school! She’s already feeling very at home around the dancers!

FEE UPDATE- EFFECTIVE FROM SUMMER TERM 2026
Our Teddington fees have not increased since we moved into the studio in 2024 and with rising costs, it is now necessary to introduce a small fee increase.
This increase helps us continue to provide:
– High-quality teaching
– Increased studio and running costs
– A safe, professional, and inspiring environment for our dancers
30 MINS: £7.50, 45 MINS: £8.25, 1 HR: £9.00
SATURDAY TEACHING UPDATE- EFFECTIVE FROM SUMMER TERM 2026
After Easter, I’ll be returning to teaching Saturday morning classes, with Miss Arzu teaching on Saturday afternoons.
To allow me to teach Acro, there will be a timetable change. Please make sure you check the updated timetable carefully and note any changes to your child’s class time (please see below). As always, if you have any questions or need clarification, don’t hesitate to ask, we’re very happy to help.
With these changes, some students may now have a gap between classes. Dancers are more than welcome to stay in the changing room during this time to rest and have lunch, or they may leave the studio with a parent/guardian and return for their next class.
We also want to let you know about an upcoming change to our Saturday morning classes. After the Easter break (from the Summer Term), we will be merging our current Pre-Primary Ballet, Tap & Jazz and Primary/Grade 1 Ballet & Tap classes to create one class: *Mini Ballet, Tap & Introduction to Jazz*, *running on Saturdays 10:00–11:00.*
This class will be for dancers in Reception to Year 2, with a little flexibility. As always, placement will be based on what we feel is best for each child’s development. Some children may stay in the class for an extra year or begin slightly earlier than Reception, depending on individual readiness.
Dancers aged 6 and over may also take Junior Jazz alongside this class, should they wish to add an additional style.
If your child also takes Acro, they will be placed in Mini Acro, Acro Foundations, or Acro Development, depending on age and ability. Please refer to the full timetable below to confirm which class your dancer is in. If any of our Tiny’s or Mini’s would like to trial Mini Acro please send us an email to arrange a trial 🙂
When dancers move into Year 3 (or during that year), they will then progress into Junior Ballet and Tap which takes place on a weekday.
This change allows us to create a smoother progression for our younger dancers while keeping classes fun, supportive, and age-appropriate.
As always, if you have any questions or need clarification, don’t hesitate to ask, we’re very happy to help.
We also have a fun little update to share!
To better reflect our dancer’s stage and progression, some of our class names are getting a small glow-up.
There will be no changes to lesson content, just fresh names that better represent our dancers.
Think of it as a wardrobe refresh….but for class titles 🙂

TDC Uniform
This is a little reminder that all students should be wearing the bespoke TDC uniform. If you are unsure of how to order the black TDC uniform please pop us an email. The Black TDC Iris Leotard is for all students from Tiny Tots to our Seniors, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Conditioning and Acro inclusive. Street Dance uniform includes the compulsory TDC T-shirt, TDC Joggers and TDC Zoodie.
The ordering information for each class is in the Uniform section which includes the links to the online stores.
The Black TDC Iris Leotard can be purchased from squaddancewear.com. You will have to register for an account to access the TDC page and don’t worry this page isn’t just for the Elite Team uniform, any student can purchase the TDC T-shirt, Zoodie, Bag, Leggings or Shorts (only the Crop Tops, Pants and Jacket is exclusive to the Elite Teams). Squad Dancerwear have recently updated their website so if you already have an account you may need to reset your password, for any new orders/ customers you will need to create an account to see TDC items.
All other uniform for Ballet and Tap classes are to be purchased from tdo.mydancestore.co.uk. Please refer to the menu drop down on the left for your child’s class. (link below)
Correct uniform should also be worn in particular when we have guest teachers and cover teachers shouldn’t have to keep nagging about this.
Sadly I have noticed Juniors onwards uniform standards have started to slip. Maintaining correct uniform is important for safety, discipline, and proper technique and we appreciate your support with this. Well done to the Lower School who have been amazing with their presentation, FAB!!
Ballet Uniform Requirements
Ballet uniform is the TDC Iris Leotard with ballet tights for all students from Grade 1 and up. Lower School students may wear either ballet tights or ballet socks with their TDC Iris Leotard (Tiny Tots and Mini’s). For boys, please see our ‘Boys’ section on our online Dance Store (link below).
We have found a fabulous brand that offers ballet tights and shoes in a wide range of skin tones. If your child has a darker skin tone and would prefer tights and shoes that better match their complexion, we will include the link below. Students are absolutely welcome to continue wearing pink ballet tights and pink ballet shoes if they wish.
Please note: If students choose to wear skin-tone matched tights, they must wear matching Ballet Shoes.
Hair Requirements
All classes except for Street Dance hair should be in a secure bun with enough pins to last the entire lesson as well as loose hairs and fringes pulled back off the face and secured. Street Dance hair should be in a high pony tail with loose hair and fringes pulled back away from the face.
Exciting Senior Uniform Update
After chatting with our senior students and listening carefully to their feedback, we are excited to share that we will soon be introducing a more supportive TDC leotard, designed especially for senior students only (Senior Ballet & Senior Jazz).
This new Leotard will be available to purchase soon via our Squad Dancewear site. Senior students are more than welcome to continue wearing the original TDC leotard if they prefer, however we want to ensure all of our dancers feel confident, comfortable and supported in their uniform while still looking smart and professional.
Thank you for helping us maintain a polished and consistent standard across all ballet classes. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Please note the following provisional dates and pop them in your diaries:
Saturday 28th November 2026 – Dress Rehearsal

We are currently awaiting theatre confirmation, but these are the dates we are working towards. Our 2025 sell-out show was a huge success and I’m beyond excited to start planning the next one with our dancers.
Please note: if these dates are not confirmed, it is unlikely that we will be able to secure another theatre for 2026 and the show would therefore take place in early 2027.

Wow, it may have taken the full week after to recover but what an amazing weekend to Blackpool the Elite Team had!!
Weekends like this are about making special memories as a team and dancing their hearts out on stage! I’m so incredibly proud of the team and I could watch you all on stage forever!!

A big thank you to Nick and my mum for making the journey up there with me as I couldn’t have done it alone! Terms and Conditions
This is your termly reminder to take a moment to read the Terms and Conditions. Please note since becoming TDC the Fees and Notice sections have been updated.
We kindly ask that you take a moment to review the Terms and Conditions, with particular attention to the Notice policy, which applies to all students regardless of age.
Providing sufficient notice enables us to plan class sizes efficiently and maintain the quality of our lesson planning.
This term, we have experienced a few situations where notification of non-returning students was received several weeks into the term. In some cases, half-term fees, as agreed at registration, are still outstanding. These changes inevitably affect class structure and planning.
Please also be aware that lesson changes made after the notice period are subject to the relevant fee.
Communication at TDC
It is very important we have a correct contact number for you as WhatsApp is currently our preferred choice of communication for urgent messages and group messages. We have definitely had more success in reaching parents using this direct messaging service. For communication relating to class info or notice please communicate via email, thank you. If you haven’t been receiving any kind of communication from TDC please speak to myself or Harriet.
If we have to suddenly cancel classes for any reason, ie. weather, natural events, illness etc you will receive direct communication from us or always check the website.
Please save our mobile number to your contacts: 07376 397748.
We send Invoices and Newsletters via email so please make sure we have an up to date email address for you.
Newsletters
We aim to upload Newsletters to the website a couple of weeks before the end of term. Please check the website for end of term information, e.g. End of term watching.
A link to newsletters will sent via email but it always worth checking the website for any up to date information.
Communication
If we have to suddenly cancel classes for any reason, ie. weather, natural events, illness etc you will receive direct communication from us or always check the website.
We mainly communicate via WhatsApp as we can send out a Broadcast to you all.
Please save our mobile number to your contacts: 07376 397748.
Parking close to the Studio
There is free parking down Field Lane and surrounding roads, with a short walk up to the studio. The closest car parks are Cedar Road Car Park and Teddington Station Car Park (Adelaide Road) both a 3 minute walk to the studio. Teddington also has many metred spaces on the main High Road within walking distance of TDC.
Paying Fees with Cash
We are trying to be as cashless as possible. We will of course still accept cash but please be aware change will not be given until the following week. Thank you for your co-operation.
Social Media Come and follow us on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. There are lots of photos and videos of our fabulous dancers, you will really see their progression, it’s lovely to see.
