The Dance Company Team

Meg Edmonds

Meg danced at the VSD from the age of 2 up until 18. Meg started assisting at the Village School of Dance at the age of 14. From 2012 Meg reintroduced the Junior Jazz class back into the school which was a huge success (and still teaching some of our OG’s who are nearly 18!).

TRAINING: Meg studied at Richmond College where she received 3 Distinctions in her Level 3 Dance BTEC. Meg then successfully auditioned and gained a place at  the Margaret Howard Theatre College (now known as Momentum Performing Arts Academy) in 2015, graduating in 2018. While there Meg achieved her Advanced 2 in Tap and Modern and Intermediate in Ballet, DDE in Ballet, Tap and Associate in Street Dance. Meg has performed in various theatres including the Watford Palace and Sadler’s Wells as well aboard the cruise ship for MSC Cruises.

TEACHING: Since 2012 Meg has continued expanding the timetable. In 2019 a Senior Elite Team was established and our competition side of the school has grown to include a Junior and Mini Elite Team. Meg is very excited to now be able to offer all her students the opportunity to be apart of an Elite Programme (unlimited hours of training per week), this has been Meg’s dream for many years. Meg has always been apart of the school’s shows, taking part as well as choreographing many dances. Since qualifying as a teacher Meg has put students in for their ISTD Ballet and Tap exams up to Grade 6, with a 100% pass rate all gaining Distinctions and Merits.

While gradually taking on many Principal roles at VSD (thanks to Miss Jacqueline letting Meg take over a lot!) over the last few years officially we are able to open a new chapter of the dance school this September. We are excited to re-launch as The Dance Company.

Harriet Gray

Harriet began dancing at The Village School of Dance and Drama at the age of 2 and a half in 1988 when the school was located in the church hall at St Mary’s Church in Osterley. It was here Harriet developed a passion for dance and in particular choreographing and teaching.

TRAINING: Harriet achieved a GCSE in Dance from Whitton School (now known as Twickenham Academy), and an AS and an A Level in Dance and Performing Arts from Richmond College. From there Harriet went onto University and studied for a BA Honours in Dance Studies at Roehampton University. Harriet then successfully auditioned and gained a place at Margaret Howard Theatre College (now know as Momentum Performing Arts Academy) where she gained her Intermediate in Tap. After gaining experience on a Musical Theatre course Harriet enrolled at The Kingston Teacher’s Training College where she completed her DDE (Diploma in Dance Education) in Tap.

TEACHING: From the age of 14 Harriet assisted Miss Jacqueline with the younger classes on a Saturday at VSD and from there taught many classes, including Jazz, Pom and Cheer and a Boy’s Only Street Dance class. Harriet often attends training courses and keeps up to date with all ISTD changes. Harriet often covers Ballet, Tap and Jazz classes.

Harriet also runs the admin side of TDC include managing the website. From September 2022 Harriet will be at the studio for the 1st few Saturdays of each term, welcoming new and existing families to the school. Harriet will happily help with taking fee money and assisting with uniform orders. During Show Term Harriet will be around almost all Term to answer questions and help with costumes. For the last 10 years Harriet has stage managed VSD’s shows, assisted with Technical Rehearsals and helped co-ordinate the running of the shows, you may also see her on stage!

Sophie has been a part of the dance school since she was a Tiny Tot and is now part of our Upper School and trains in our Senior Elite Team.

Miss Talitha

Talitha has trained at the VSD from the age of 2, very quickly taking a shine to dancing and performing. It was very obvious from a young age that Talitha has a gift for performing, often being praised by audience members.

Talitha has achieved up to Grade 6 in ISTD Ballet and Tap and worked towards her Intermediate exams. Along with the old Senior Elite Team Talitha has competed in a few dance competitions taking home 2 Silver Group medals and entered a tough Senior category and took home the Bronze Solo medal.

Talitha has achieved a BTEC in Dance at Richmond College and has performed in many shows while attending there. Since September 2023 Talitha has been studying at LMA (Liverpool Media Academy)- a specialist University for Media, Music and Performing Arts based in Liverpool and London.
